The Courthouse Trial & Litigation Strategy Guide
Learn how to prepare case exhibits, structure compelling opening and closing arguments, avoid Contempt of Court, and lead trials to victory.
1. The Anatomy of a Roblox Court Trial
Every trial in The Courthouse follows a strict procedural sequence. Understanding this structure allows you to plan your objections and testimony timing effectively:
- Opening Statements: Prosecution sets up the narrative of guilt; Defense introduces themes of innocence or lack of evidence.
- Direct Examination: Calling friendly witnesses to establish facts. (Remember: NO leading questions permitted!)
- Cross-Examination: Opposing counsel interrogates the witness to expose contradictions and bias.
- Closing Arguments: Final emotional appeal summarizing key case facts before jury deliberation.
- Jury Verdict & Sentencing: Jurors cast secret ballots; Judge pronounces the final judgment.
2. Cross-Examination Traps to Avoid
- Never Ask a Question You Don't Know the Answer To: Only ask questions that force a specific "Yes" or "No" response based on physical evidence.
- Don't Let Opposing Counsel Ramble: If a witness goes off-topic to tell a sympathetic story, object immediately for Relevance!
- Protect Your Witness: If the opposing lawyer yells or cuts off your witness, object for Badgering.
3. How to Avoid Contempt of Court
The Presiding Judge has the authority to command the Bailiff to handcuff and jail players for Contempt of Court. To avoid being cited:
- Never speak or shout from the spectator gallery during active testimony.
- Always address the judge as "Your Honor" when presenting motions or objecting.
- Accept judicial rulings gracefully—arguing with the Judge after an objection is overruled is grounds for instant jail time.
